STAND is short for Striving Towards A New Day, and they are a group based in Fife. This film was made for Dementia Activism Week 2021, with a Life Changes Trust peer-to-peer resources grant.
The STAND Group formed in September 2019. They are a group of people living with younger onset dementia and their families and friends. They all reside in the Fife area.
This film tells the story of what it is like to get a diagnosis of young onset dementia, told through the eyes of Gerry King and others, and talks about their journey to activism - taking control of their own lives and helping to influence decisions and policies that will improve life for them and for others living with dementia.
